Hand Stitching with Cynthia Gossage (240501)

In this class, we will explore two popular stitching trends: sashiko and boro. Both began in Japan about 500 years ago in response to poverty and a class system as ways to salvage every last bit of fabric and thread. Today they represent two distinct aesthetics, while relying exclusively on the humble running stitch.
